First Steps

There's nothing quite like the feeling you get watching your baby gather his courage, steel his resolve, and take his first real, teetering steps towards you before collapsing into your loving embrace.

It's one of those moments when all the sleepless nights, all the time spent washing poop out of hair, and all the hours scraping dried Gerber Puffs off the walls really seem worth it. It's a moment you will look back on for years to come as the instant your baby became a toddler, maybe even a little boy, and ground the last of his baby-ness under his chubby, unstable feet.

At least, that's what I assume. Aidan took his first real steps today straight into the arms of his very proud Daddy while Mommy was in the kitchen making lunch.

Sigh.

Of course, after he walked to his Dad, he decided that was enough for today and he refused to try again. Aidan, don't think you won't be hearing about this when you're old enough to understand! =)
