(Not so) Fresh Air

Aidan and I went to Springdale Farm this morning with three other moms and their kids.

We had a really nice time - Aidan played on the playground (well, actually just on the bouncy log and the bouncy dump truck, but he had fun anyway). He also got to pet a horse, a goat, and a pig.

We saw horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens. We also saw a turkey who "gobbled" at Aidan, which Aidan found quite amusing - he giggled a little bit. There was a beautiful peacock but he/she wouldn't open his/her feathers so it looked like a super long tail of feathers trailing behind.

We had a great time and are looking forward to seeing everyone again next week at playgroup!

I forgot to bring the camera, so here's a parting shot of Aidan holding the brochure to the Farm...

Walk in the Park

Aidan had his four month well-baby appointment this morning. He was given a clean bill of health, which we were very happy about. He also got four shots, which HE wasn't too happy about, but did just fine. He did much better this time than he did at his two month well-baby appointment, so we were pleased.

We were even able to take him out to the park to enjoy this beautiful weather today! It was a little chilly, but very sunny which was so nice after the gray, dreary wintery days we're used to. I think Spring is finally here!

Here are some pictures from the park today:

Happy Easter

Today, Aidan celebrated his very first Easter. He, of course, made out like a bandit - the Easter Bunny was very, very good to him!

From the Easter Bunny (at home), he got three books (Spongebob Squarepants Easter Parade; Brother Bear; and a Dinosaur Book), three containers of Gerber Puffs, two mesh feeders, and a Spongebob Squarepants chair that is able to be folded into a bag (like Mommy and Daddy's camping chairs!). We visited Michael at the cemetery - wished him a Happy Easter. Aidan was awake (which is unusual when we visit Michael, but so nice!) so he was able to go over to Michael's stone and wish him a Happy Easter. We were delighted to see that Grandma and Grandpa May left Michael an Easter balloon, which Aidan thought was quite interesting - he enjoyed looking at it while we talked to Michael. We also made a quick stop over to Matthew's grave, one of Michael's angel buddies.

After visiting Michael, we went over to Aunt Terri's house where Aidan had a ball playing with Aunt Terri. Grandma and Grandpa May's Easter Bunny brought Aidan some sunblock (for our trip to Florida in about a month!), an adorable little outfit, and a very soft and cuddly little stuffed lamb. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's Easter Bunny brought Aidan a very fun Fisher Price learning puppy. He sings different songs and teaches ABCs and 123s (nothing like starting him early, right?!?) Aidan absolutely LOVES it and I'm sure will drive his father and I nuts by playing it OVER and OVER and OVER again once he learns how to make it play music! Great Aunt Carol and Great Aunt Dolly's Easter Bunn(ies) brought Aidan some really nice books and an outfit (which we're looking forward to dressing Aidan in and then bringing him to visit his Great Uncle Harry at the cemetery -- if you hear (or feel) the earth shake a little bit, then you'll know we're visiting Great Uncle Harry!).

After visiting everyone at Aunt Terri's house, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Ramos' house for dinner. We had a delicious ham dinner (well, Mommy and Daddy did), although Aidan DID try some mashed potatoes (which he LOVED, by the way). Aidan had fun playing with his Grandpa in his NASCAR exersaucer. Aidan and Grandpa also went for a quick walk around the block, which Aidan really enjoyed. Grandma and Grandpa also had an Easter Bunny visit and he left Aidan an Animal Planet Easter basket which included a very fun giraffe hand puppet and some candy. He also got a really cute stuffed Easter Bunny which sings (how fun!) and a sleeper. The Easter Bunny also brought Aidan a colorful pinwheel with instructions for Aidan to bring the pinwheel to Michael, which we will certainly make sure is done. All in all, we had a really nice day. Needless to say, Aidan is sleeping very soundly right now - he had a very long and exciting day! We haven't told him that he's going to be getting his four month shots tomorrow morning -- might give him some nightmares tonight and we don't want any of that now, do we?

A Special Visit

Aidan spent some time with his Great-Grandma Ramos this afternoon. She stopped over to bring him a special Easter basket she made for him. This visit was really special because she hasn't seen him in over three months - and, boy, was she surprised at how big he's gotten!

Trip to the Zoo

Aidan enjoyed his very first trip to the zoo this afternoon. It was a warm day (unfortunately, not sunny and even a little rainy), but we had a nice time nonetheless. Alex and I are zoo members so we figured today was as good a day as any because it probably wouldn't be overly crowded and we could take our time and really enjoy ourselves.

Aidan's favorite animals were the polar bears and the otters. He also enjoyed watching the sea lions. Really, anything that swam underwater was a hit in his book! I think he like watching the animals glide under the water effortlessly. Maybe he'll be a swimmer when he's a little older? We shall wait and see!

Fresh Air...

We spent some time outside today - the weather was gorgeous. They're predicting more beautiful weather tomorrow, too, so we're looking forward to that.

Here's some random shots from today:

Yummy!

Well, he did it. Did what, you might ask?

He learned how to hold his own bottle! Aidan has been grabbing at my fingers for quite some time now, while he drank from his bottle. He couldn't quite figure out how to open his hand wide enough to hold on to the bottle so that it wouldn't tip. Well, tonight, out of the blue, he just grabbed right on to the bottle and didn't let go! Does this mean he's on to the sippy cup soon? Not a chance. Like I've said before - I keep telling him he's not allowed to grow up so fast. And that means no sippy cups for a couple more months!

Here he is in action:

TV Junkie...

Aidan watched his very first Baby Einstein video this morning... He absolutely LOVED it! Now we just need to make sure he doesn't turn into a "TV Junkie!"

Aidan's Newest "Trick..."

Aidan has recently found that his hands (and thumb) are pretty tasty. Because of this, he usually could care less about his Nuk (pacifier). Well, it looks like he's found a new, fun way to "play" with his Nuk...

He sucks on the plastic part of it instead of the rubber nipple! My silly boy! He's also learned how to put his Nuk in his mouth, should he decide it might be more fun to suck on that instead of his fingers or thumb. Such a smart little guy!

Test Drive

Aidan "test drove" a Jeep this afternoon...

He seemed to do well, considering he is only fifteen weeks old - not fifteen years!

It *IS* April, right?

I thought the saying went something like "April Showers bring May Flowers..." Little did I know that sometimes April "showers" can mean SNOW!

Look and see what was coming down (and sticking on the ground) this evening... (yes, it IS snow)

Yuck!

What a difference two months can make...

Seeing how much Aidan has really grown in the past two months makes me a little sad that he's growing up so fast! I keep telling him that he's not supposed to getting so big so fast but he seems bound and determined to not listen =)

Time Change...

Well, we had to "reset" our clocks on Saturday night into Sunday morning. I wasn't sure if (or how) it would affect Aidan and his (semi) schedule... Well, it did. But, it wasn't too bad, so I'm not complaining.

Aidan has recently (within the past month or so) set his own bedtime at sometime between 7:15pm and 8pm, and in most cases it's right around 7:30pm. Well, last night the clocked turned to 7:30pm and Aidan was WIDE AWAKE. No big deal because he was his happy, smiley self - not the fussy, crying, overtired monster he can sometimes be. The next time I looked at the clock, it said 8:30pm. This is when Aidan started to turn into the fuss monster... Fast forward to 9:30pm and he is STILL awake and by this time, overtired and VERY fussy. I eventually got him to sleep by 10:15pm, after what felt like endless bouncing on my leg. (Good exercise, I guess!)

The funny thing is - usually he wakes up between 6am and 7am in the morning for breakfast. Today... I had to wake him up at 9:20am because he was still sound asleep! I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be back to his semi-normal schedule tonight... Wish us luck!

Feet

One foot..

Two feet...

Aidan feet, Mommy feet.
