Happy (almost) first birthday, Aidan!
We had a big party today in honor of Aidan's first birthday (only a couple of days away!). We had about fifty guests, including both sets of Aidan's grandparents, old friends and some new ones, too. It was fun and Aidan really seemed to enjoy himself - even after getting only a couple of hours sleep last night! (Must have been the excitement... or, more likely, his molars trying to pop through). It was a lot of work (for me!), but it was so much fun.
My favorite moment was when we gave Aidan his "smash" cake. His eyes got big, like saucers, and he dug right into the frosting. He got a little upset when everyone (50 people!) cheered for him, so there were a few tears shed (some of them mine, but that's only because I still can't believe my little boy will soon be one!). After a little kiss from his Mama, he was back to being happy Aidan and he polished off quite a bit of his cake.
