Aidan's First Haircut

Aidan had his hair cut for the first time today... at Walt Disney World!

He was so good, sitting like a big boy on the barber's chair. He wasn't even afraid of the razor!

After his hair was cut, he was given a pair of mouseketeer ears that said "First Haircut." He only kept them on for a second (he HATES hats!) but he looked so cute. I'm sure he was just thinking he didn't want to cover up his new 'do!

Alex and I were given clippings of his curly blond locks as well as some "pixie dust" (Mickey Mouse confetti) and a certificate stating that Aidan received his first haircut at Walt Disney World.

Every time I look at my precious baby boy, I get a little misty-eyed because he no longer looks like my baby... he looks like a BIG BOY!

Our Future Superhero

Our future superhero is all set for his vacation! We leave in less than 24 hours... (I will update the blog once or twice while we're gone, but don't think we've fallen off the face of the earth if it's not updated frequently!)

My (1st of MANY) 29th Birthday

Today, we celebrated my 29th Birthday. I've been telling everyone that this is the last birthday that I'll be celebrating... From today on, I will remain 29 years old. (Or at least that's what I keep telling myself!)

We had a great day. Daddy let me sleep in (which he's been doing a lot of lately, I am so lucky) and he and Aidan played together before breakfast. Then, Aidan woke me up with a nice birthday kiss and we enjoyed breakfast together. After that, we played and read books and played and read some more books.

We brought home subs for dinner (which is exactly what I was craving!) and after Aidan went to bed (without a single peep!), Alex and I enjoyed some quality cuddling time and we watched a movie.

All in all, I had a wonderful day.

If you had asked me ten years ago where I thought I would be in life when I turned 29, I'm pretty sure I would have said... Working (as a nurse), maybe married, maybe a dog or two, and definitely no kids. At 19, I was positive I never wanted children. Now when I look back, I am so glad we do have kids. A lot of kids, actually! Michael, Aidan, our February angel, and now two more on the way! I really can't imagine life without all of our children, whether they're here on Earth or watching over us from Heaven. Each and every one of our children has written a chapter (or a thousand) of my life and I will be forever grateful. Oh, and forever 29, too!

Lilac Festival

Aidan and I had a great time at the Lilac Festival today with some of our friends from playgroup. We enjoyed some playtime on our blankets in the park, smelling the lilacs, and, of course, eating! Aidan was a perfect little angel, even taking some time for a quick nap before he turned into Mr. Crankypants.

Big Brother in Training

Aidan is very excited to share the news that he's going to be a big brother! We are pregnant with fraternal twins, due December 7th, 2007.

Aidan is taking his big brother-in-training responsibilities very seriously. He loves to kiss my belly and excitedly say "babee". He also thinks he's carrying a baby because sometimes when we ask him where the babies are, he'll lift up his shirt and show us his belly. He's such a cutie pie.

I am now a little over ten weeks pregnant and, quite frankly, I'm unable to "hide" the pregnancy any longer! We told our family and close friends a little over a week ago and they are all very excited for us. After our third ultrasound (yesterday) we feel confident that these two babies are "keepers" and we're happy to share our wonderful news with all of you.

Please keep us in your prayers as we experience this wonderful journey of pregnancy times two!

One Week to Go...

Seven days from today, we will be on a plane headed for Walt Disney World. We are all very excited, especially Aidan, who LOVES everything Mickey Mouse! For now, my excitement is being a bit overshadowed by my desire to get the house clean, the laundry done, and to make sure we have everything we need.
I also need to start packing, which is, in my opinion, one of the worst things about travelling. I really dislike packing and somehow I've become the designated packer of the house. Oh, well. It will all be worth it when we can see the excitement and joy on Aidan's face when he gets to meet "the mouse" in person!

Record Naptime...

Aidan has been napping since 12noon this afternoon. As I write this, it's 2:30pm and he's still sound asleep (his average nap lasts an hour). I just peeked in his room to make sure he was still okay - he is. I snapped a quick picture of him, too... Aren't sleeping babies just the sweetest thing?

The first of many...

We had a great day today. The weather was absolutely gorgeous - mid-80's, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky. We took advantage of the perfect weather and spent almost ALL day outside.

At one point, we had fun at a local playground (sorry, I forgot the camera). As we were leaving, Aidan decided he wanted to walk (which is fine by me... he's heavy!) and, unfortunately, as we neared the car, he tripped over his own feet and scraped his knee on the pavement. My poor baby got his first scraped knee! I'm sure this is a first that will be repeated over... and over... and over again throughout his life. But, he was definitely a trooper, he didn't cry at all. Just pulled himself back up and walked to the car.

Of course, he was rewarded with a nice swig of juice and some peanut butter crackers. Peanut butter crackers make everything all better, don't they?!

Here's a picture of his battle wounds...

March of Dimes Walk

Aidan, Alex, and I joined a few friends from our playgroup and walked a little more than three miles for the March of Dimes. Collectively, as a team we raised $1316 (our goal was $1000). We had a great time - the weather was beautiful -- sunny and warm (but not too warm). Aidan enjoyed riding in his wagon and talking to the other moms, dads, and babies.

Thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to this great cause. We are so grateful, as is the March of Dimes.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa May!

Aidan treated Grandpa to lunch this afternoon, in honor of his birthday. Aidan had a GREAT time - he ate ALL of his lunch (which he hasn't been doing lately) and he also enjoyed meeting lots of Grandpa's co-workers. I think Aidan's favorite part was playing with Grandpa's computer keyboard and mouse. My little bean counter in training! =)
