An afternoon with Aunt Terri

Aidan's godmother, Aunt Terri, came over this afternoon to help us make favors for Aidan's birthday party this weekend. Unfortunately, Aidan was a cranky monster because he had refused to nap in the morning. About half an hour after Terri came over, I decided to put him down for a nap in his crib (which I never do -- he usually naps on my chest). Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best, I put him down in his crib (after a little rocking in the glider), turned the monitor on, and came downstairs.

Well, if you ask me, it was a success. He only cried for about fifteen minutes before falling asleep (and staying asleep for an hour!). This is soooo much better than when we had to let him "cry it out" at bedtime a couple of months ago -- he would cry anywhere from fifteen minutes to two full hours before falling asleep for the night.

After his (much needed) nap, he and Aunt Terri had some fun playing together.
