Mama's Boy...

My little boy is most definitely becoming a "Mama's Boy." Not that it's a bad thing, mind you. His father is most definitely a "Mama's Boy" as well, so he just follows in his father's footsteps, I guess.

Lately, Aidan has become extremely clingy. It could be because of teething pain. It could be because stranger anxiety has started to set in. It could be because he is making some big achievements - teething, rolling over, sitting up, feeding himself, drinking from a cup, scooting... It could be because he loves me more than anyone else in the world (even his dad!). (Okay, I was just joking with that last one).

Alex was kind enough to feed Aidan while I made dinner and Aidan screamed (almost) the whole time because he wanted Mommy.

While it's quite endearing, it also breaks my heart because I know that Alex thinks Aidan doesn't love (or even like) him. I try to tell him it's because I am the one who spends practically every waking second with Aidan. I change him, dress him, bathe him, feed him, and play with him. I rock him, sing to him, swim with him, dance with him, and read to him. And, it's not that Alex doesn't do these things with him. It's just that he doesn't do these things with him all of the time. (The man's gotta get some sleep some time!)

I've done some research on this subject and I know that this, too, shall pass. I just wish I knew of a better way to convince Alex it isn't him. It's not anything he did (or didn't do). It's just one more milestone that we need to be proud of Aidan for accomplishing (and, hopefully soon, overcoming).
