Aidan and I helped celebrate the Cat in the Hat's 50th Birthday today at the
Strong National Museum of Play. At 2:36pm, our local celebrity (and movie critic), Jack Garner, read the
Cat in the Hat to an eager audience (Aidan and I included). Aidan was mesmerized, especially because the Cat himself was sitting right next to Mr. Garner!
(In case you were wondering, they read it at 2:36pm because Dr. Seuss only used 236 different words to write the Cat in the Hat). 
After story time, we joined in on the "birthday parade," which led to some yummy birthday cake. Aidan very much enjoyed his piece of chocolate birthday cake.
And after his sugar high, he was raring to go and play!
I have to admit, it was really quite nice to have just a "mommy and me" date. Lately, we've been having playdates with Aidan's (and my) friends. It was nice to spend some time together, just Aidan and I.
